The Superior Court of Justice declared null the resolution that forced teachers in Castilla-La Mancha to recover teaching days due to the storm “Filomena”. Thus, it cancels the decree of 01/28/2021 of the Ministry of Education which modified the school calendar for non-university education for the 2020/2021 academic year. Concretely, it established the resumption of January 8, 11 and 12 of last year, the date on which classes were suspended. And he cancels it because this resolution introduces new school days that had not been taken into account in the work calendar. “We are talking about a resolution which should have previously been the subject of negotiations,” explains STE-CLM, the union at the origin of the complaint, in a press release. The union claims that “once again, the Educational Administration is violating teachers’ right to collective bargaining, by unilaterally modifying their working conditions without prior negotiation.” This cancellation sets a precedent and comes just three years after “Filomena”.
